GREATER MANCHESTER CHURCHES TOGETHER
ABOUT US
Initially founded as the Manchester and Salford and District Council of Churches in January 1918, Greater Manchester Churches Together has been a pioneer of Christian unity in the UK.
We work to encourage the flourishing of local Christian unity for mission in many forms.
Alongside providing a forum for consultation between member churches, we seek to encourage local unity groups and Churches Together groups across Greater Manchester, act as sponsoring body for Local Ecumenical Partnerships, share information between groups across the region, encourage members to respond to the needs of their communities, and where appropriate make representations on behalf of the Churches. As a sign of the Churches' commitment to one another, and a visible expression of Christian unity, GMCT seeks to glorify the one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
